Daniel Carlson has been part of the Northwestern Mutual family for five years.  Having worked in variety of roles throughout his tenure with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Dan was most recently named the Managing Director of the Potomac Group in 2007.  A graduate of Davidson College, Dan is originally from Upstate New York where he learned the nuances of building a strong financial services practice from two highly-decorated members of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.  Wishing to build upon his experiences in New York, Dan pursued the dream of developing a financial services practice of his own by moving to the nation's capitol in 2005.  Almost immediately upon his arrival in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Dan had great success addressing the wide variety of financial needs for his clients, while also pursuing various leadership opportunities within our organization.  After running the College Internship program throughout 2006, Dan is excited to have an even greater impact on his new community in and around Potomac long into the future.

In his role as Managing Director, Dan supports the vision of The Washington Group by helping our clients' dreams become reality.  Additionally, it excites Dan to introduce this rewarding career to highly qualified candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to help others.
